John C. Fread
chief operating officer
More than 20 years ago, John got his start as a programmer for a Fortune 500 company. Over a few years, he quickly moved up the structured job grading ladder. After many years, however, John began to think that he was just a cog in the wheel, a number on a spreadsheet. Working in a role that supported the product line meant that there would always be higher priorities than his programming role. It all forced John to ask, why support the line of business when you can be it?So in the mid 1990s, John joined a Microsoft Gold Partner, in the thick of the dot.com wave, and quickly became a high value consultant. During this time he discovered his true calling, bridging both the technical and business sides of clients' businesses. He walked away from his keyboard to pursue his passion, and became a business analyst / project manager. Working on many successful and unsuccessful projects, he realized there had to be a better way to do consulting, and began developing his own methodology. This methodology was the genesis of the Delivery AssuranceSM. Borrowing the best practices from many disciplines, John emerged with a methodology that worked on a consistent, predictable basis. Also during this time, he and Steve Nolan had the epiphany that they could build a company with a singular focus: exceeding client expectations.
Today, John is the company's Chief Operating Officer and is ultimately responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, on budget, and exceed our clients' expectations for quality and content. John has a passion for boating and all music, but lives for Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band in concert. He and his wife, Julie, have three children. John serves as an advisor to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Council on Small Business, as well as being a member of the U.S. Chamber Technology Advisory Committee.
