Ever since its introduction as an add-on for Sql Server 2000, Sql Server Reporting Services (SSRS) has been an important new player in the enterprise reporting arena and for smaller companies as well.  Now bundled with Sql Server 2005, and at no extra charge for a single-server installation, this system offers a lot of functionality.

  • Centralized Report Management
  • Role-based Security Model
  • "Pull" and "Push" Report Delivery
  • Scalability to Multiple Servers
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting

However, its structure and implementation are non-trivial leaving many to place it on their "ToDo" list rather than actively using this new set of tools.  Included in the SSRS distribution are a web service, a Windows service, a report designer for Visual Studio, an ad hoc report designer available to selected users, a web-based management interface, and a Windows interface for lower level configuration.

It can sound rather daunting to a busy professional, but as is often the case, a quick-start session can help take this tool from the ToDo list to production.  Join us for just such a session in the form of our on-going Logical Advantage Lunch-&-Learns to be held Friday, April 18th, 2008 at our offices located at:

4421 Stuart Andrew Blvd., Suite 218 Charlotte, North Carolina 28277

Doors open at 11:30am.  Lunch will be served.

The event runs from 11:30am to 1:00pm.
